“Female 88 years old

Therapies used include RIFE and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT).

Suffered two strokes within 11 days of one another. The first resulted in loss of ability to swallow and loss of speech (only made guttural sounds). Her right side of the body was also weakened. The second stroke took away much of her sight. For instance, she couldn’t read in bed, couldn’t see which side of the door had the doorknob, and couldn’t tell the washbasin from the toilet.

Began HBOT about one month after the second stroke and within 20 treatments (10 days) could read the entire newspaper without glasses. As treatments continued, angina and trouble going upstairs gradually improved to moving upstairs with ease. Each series of HBOT gives her more and more energy and her quality of speech and life keep improving. She can now write and do simple useful things around the house such as bathe herself after being set-up, fix a breakfast of eggs and toast, clear the table and make the bed.

The staff is very competent, friendly and sensitive to the patients needs. I would absolutely recommend your facility, not just for HBOT, but also for the way the approach addresses the whole person and how Dr. Cole and the staff take a personal interest in each individual.

“Beta Sitosterol and the Prostate

There are dozens and dozens of classic double blind studies done with real men on the effects of beta-sitosterol on benign prostate hypertrophy or BPH. Below we have summarized some of these studies . . . all of which indicate that beta-sitosterol is a highly effective trreatment for BPH.

A most unique review of 31 years of studies was published in the volume 280 of the Journal of the American Medical Association (1998) where they chose 18 different trials involving 2,939 men in total who were treated for BPH with strong extracts of saw palmetto containing beta-sitosterol. They said after reviewing all these studies, “”The evidence suggests that Serenoa repens (saw palmetto) improves urologic symptoms and and flow measures.””
One of the very best studies done was published in the British Journal of Urology, volume 80 (1997), at the University of Dresden. Drs. Klippel, Hilti and Schipp studied 177 men for 6 months who suffered from BPH. Half the men got a placebo and half got the prescription extract Azuprostat containing 130mg of beta-sitosterol.

They cited a full 32 references to substantiate their research. They carefully screened all the men and tested them extensively during the study. They concluded, “”These results show that beta-sitosterol is an effective option in the treatment of BPH.

“Hyperbaric therapy traditionally involves inhaling up to 100% oxygen at a pressure greater than 1 atmosphere (atm) in a pressurized chamber. In the first randomized, controlled, double-blind multicenter trial, Dan Rossignol and colleagues, from six centers in the USA, studied 62 children, aged 2-7 years, to assess the efficacy of hyperbaric treatment in children with autism.

The children were randomly assigned to either 40 hours of hyperbaric treatment at 1.3 atm and 24% oxygen (treatment group) or slightly pressurized room air at 1.03 atm and 21% oxygen (non-treatment group). Clinical outcomes were evaluated by three different scales: the Clinical Global Impression (CGI) scale, the Aberrant Behavior Checklist (ABC), and the Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist (ATEC).

The study found that children with autism in the treatment group had significant improvements in overall functioning, receptive language, social interaction, eye contact, and sensory/cognitive awareness compared to children in the non-treatment group.

Rossignol wrote “”Hyperbaric treatment is a safe treatment modality at 1.3 atm and … appears to be a promising treatment for children with autism””.

The center examined studies on hyperbaric oxygen therapy—a treatment in which patients inhale 100 percent oxygen while inside a special chamber that is pressurized to greater than 1 atmosphere (atm). ” This is a response I had from one mom on mild HBOT portable chamber from the Yahoo group I subscribe to:

I would not say my child is completely recovered, but a Portable Hyperbaric Chamber was a HUGE success for my son. My son was diagnosed with mild-moderated ASD at age 3. We have been doing lots of traditional (ABA, Speech, OT, PT and a SEIT in his mainstream classroom) therapy, supplements (including MB12, DRN from Kirkman and Omega-cure fish oil), and mHBOT (we rented a chamber from Dr. Neubrander for 2 months in total). He will be 4 at the end of the week. My son lost his ASD diagnosis after the first montly round of mHBOT (Neubrander’s protocol is 1.5 hours 2 times a day with a long break in between). Before the mHBOT my son was talking and 4 weeks later he was having conversations.

I can’t begin to detail all of the changes here that we saw from mHBOT. Every one of his therapists have been amazed with his progress. It helped in every area – PT, OT, Speech, school and home. He still has some issues – he has overflow (when he gets excited his hands move around – but it is short lived), he could socialize better (but he does have a girlfriend at school!), he has some core strength and large motor planning issues (but he is at age level in fine motor skills), some articulation issues and his sentence length and processing could improve.

He is doing amazing, but I feel it is a controlled recovery – he still has therapy, loads of supplements and we are considering doing another round of Hyperbaric Therapy.
