Thanks to the developments of science and technology, there is a
glimmer of hope for treating illnesses. Such modern alternative
medications have really broken new ground. Two of these new
medications are Chelation therapy and Hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
Chelation therapy is about the use of the chelating agent known as
EDTA to bind molecules, such as metals or minerals, and remove them
from the body. EDTA or ethylene diamine tetra-acetic acid is a
synthetic amino acid that is FDA-approved to treat lead poisoning
and other heavy metal toxicities. It has also been found effective

Chelation therapy was first used during the first world war by the
British to treat soldiers that were exposed to arsenic based poison
gas which was used during that war. Then it was also used during the
second world war on navy personnel which were exposed to lead
poisoning from the paint on navy vessels. EDTA was the chelating
agent used.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is about the use of pure 100% oxygen
inside an airtight hyperbaric chamber. The treatment involves having
the patient breathe in pure oxygen that has been pressurized the
normal atmospheric pressure. It is very safe, is U.S. FDA approved
and requires no surgery. It is used to treat autism, stroke,
Alzheimer's disease, ADD/ADHD, diabetes, Crohn's disease and head
injuries.
One
factor that also makes hyperbaric oxygen therapy very safe is that
it can done right at home without any medical supervision This can
be done because hyperbaric chambers are now available for sale and
for rent. Hyperbaric chambers come in two sizes, the single bag
which can be operated solo and the double which needs two people to
be operated and fits two people. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy also does
not take that much time since its sessions only last for less than
an hour.
Hyperbaric chambers similar to chelation therapy was also being used
by the US military after the first world war. The U.S. military were
the first to test and develop hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
So if
