These children aren’t just cases, they are living human beings whose lives were severely compromised, and a relatively simple treatment made a differ¬ence that they could articulate.
The importance of my success in using HBOT for these autistic chil¬dren is that it underscores that HBOT can be used as a “”generic”” drug for a wide range of neurological disorders. In reviewing the 22 autistic children treated, I documented many different risk factors that could account for their autism. For some it was an in utero event occur¬ring at some point during pregnancy, for others it was an insult at birth or during the neonatal or early development period, and in many it was a combination of insults at different times that resulted in the picture of autism.
